2. Working Principle

The splitter works by applying static force inside a drilled hole. The process:

1. Drill a hole in the rock using a rock drill;

2. Insert the wedge set into the hole (outer wedges + center wedge);

3. Hit the center wedge with a hammer;

4. The force spreads sideways, creating cracks and splitting the rock in the desired direction.

3. How to Use

1. Mark the line: Draw a line where you want to split the stone. Leave some space outside the line.

2. Drill holes: Use an impact drill to make holes in a straight line along the mark.

   

3. Clean the holes: Remove any dust or debris inside the holes.

4. Insert the wedges: You can place the two outer wedges first, then the center wedge, or insert all together.

   

5. Hammer the wedges: Hit the center wedge in order, one by one, until the stone cracks.

   

6. Repeat if needed: If the stone doesn’t split well the first time, drill new holes and try again.

   

4. Tips for Better Results

• Use the same force each time you hit, don’t hammer too hard;

• Most stone types split well, but results may vary;

• If the stone cracks but doesn’t separate cleanly, just repeat the process on a different line.

Manual rock splitters are simple, cheap, and safe — no explosives needed. They’re easy to learn and perfect for small jobs or detailed work.
